When I Think About Me I Touch Myself

I was lucky enough to be offered a chance to guest post on the Blogger Body Calendar site. If you aren’t familiar with the project, it’s a group of wonderful, beautiful (and handsome), amazing bloggers who have agreed to bare all some in a 2011 calendar, the proceeds from which will benefit the National Eating Disorders Association. But it’s more than just a calendar. Their site, facebook page, and twitter feed feature essays and information regarding bodies and body image. I’m trying to charm my way into the 2012 edition but I’m not sure if this essay about masturbation makes me more or less likely to be asked. Let’s say “more”.

Congratulations… great essay for a wonderful project!

But, um, do we have to wait until 2012 for the semi-nakey pics? I’m no good at delayed gratification.

From what I can see, it’s a pretty great face which makes that a huge compliment. I’m so lucky to have been asked and CAN’T WAIT to see the calendar and your gorgeous self in it!

Awesome post / great piece…uh…ok, that could be taken a few ways – just take it any way you want :) It’s about time women talked openly about masturbation. Before now what do we have? One song about touching ourselves and one from Salt n’ Peppa asking us to talk about sex but never really getting to the nitty gritty and explaining that really we don’t need anyone but ourselves. You should write a song!! Lady Gaga could sing it!

Thank you! If there’s anything I feel passionately about, it’s masturbation. And menstruation. And parenting. Damn, I am passionate!
